Hey
Long-established arcade in Akihabara
Hey" opened in 2001. It has been in business since 2001, when Akihabara was still an electronics district lined with electronics stores, before it became the entertainment district it is today. If one recalls Akihabara at that time, there were only two large game arcades, "Club SEGA (now SEGA Akihabara No. 1)" and "Tri-Amusement Tower," which can be said to be long-established game arcades operating in Akihabara. Although "Hey" has more than 300 video games alone in operation, the number of retro games in operation is 90 on the video floor on the second floor. However, if puzzles and fighting games from the 90s are included on the third floor, there are sure to be more than 100 machines in operation. The number of machines running "Tower of Druaga" (1984/Namco), "Daimajimura" (1988/Capcom), and other classic games that cannot be left out of the history of video games, as well as a wide variety of shooting games, is remarkable. The fact that "Hey" has staff members who are skilled in maintenance and machine tinkering is also a strength of the company. This is visibly evident in "Hey's" original modification cabinet. This is probably the only place where you can play "Space Harrier" (1985/Sega) and "Night Striker" (1989/Taito) on the Egret II cabinet (*02). Also, "Darius II" (1989/Taito) running on the original cabinet with two 50-inch LCD monitors connected together makes a great impact.
